On March 30,2018,Lawyer Zhang Zheng,Senior Partner of Beijing Gaopeng Law Firm,was invited to serve as the keynote speaker of the fifth lecture of the"Entertainment Law Series Lecture"at the Comparative Law Institute of the University of Political Science and Law of China.He taught a course entitled"Key Points for Dispute Resolution in Entertainment Brokerage Contracts and the Concept of Film and Television Dispute Arbitration and Resolution"at the Graduate School of the University of Political Science and Law of China.

Lawyer Zhang Zheng currently serves as the Vice President of the Beijing Film and Television Entertainment Law Society and the Executive Director of the China Arbitration Law Research Association.He has served as an arbitrator in multiple arbitration institutions such as China Trade Arbitration Commission,Beijing,Shanghai,and Guangzhou,and has heard over 100 film and television entertainment dispute arbitration cases.He is the author of the"China Film and Television Dispute Resolution Annual Observation(2018)"by the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center.In recent years,Lawyer Zhang Zheng has also taught courses in commercial arbitration and film and television dispute resolution at Renmin University of China,Communication University of China,and China University of Political Science and Law.

In this lecture,Lawyer Zhang Zheng,combining his practical experience in handling a large number of film and television entertainment dispute arbitration cases during his years as an arbitrator in more than 20 arbitration institutions such as China Trade Arbitration Commission and Beijing Arbitration Commission,vividly explained to the audience the common content and forms of performance brokerage contracts,the legal nature and effectiveness of performance brokerage contracts,and the handling ideas for common arbitration requests.Lawyer Zhang Zheng also shared with everyone the concept of arbitration for resolving disputes over film and television contracts,and analyzed the natural advantages of arbitration in resolving disputes over film and television contracts,such as confidentiality,greater emphasis on autonomy of the will,and expert adjudication.

In the final comment and discussion session,Lawyer Zhang Zheng had a full exchange and interaction with the moderator,Professor Liu Chengwei of the Comparative Law Research Institute of the China University of Political Science and Law,and the commentator,Professor Liu Yi,Director of the Rule of Law Research Center of Beijing University of Technology,as well as other guests and students present.The lecture was very popular and attracted many listeners.The response was enthusiastic,and many of them had been standing in the corridor listening to the lecture.

The"Entertainment Law Series Lectures"of the Comparative Law Institute of the University of Political Science and Law of China is the first consecutive lecture and high-end forum held with the theme of entertainment law in China.The organizers successively invited experts from the State Administration of Press,Publication,Radio,Film and Television(now the State Administration of Radio,Television,and Television of the People's Republic of China),well-known film and television companies,well-known law firms,and famous law schools to deliver speeches,rallying all forces to jointly promote the development of entertainment law in China.
