From December 20 to 22,2018,the Zibo Arbitration Commission's Advanced Seminar on Improving Arbitration Credibility,organized by the Arbitration Research Institute of China University of Political Science and Law,was successfully held in Bishui Villa,Zibo City.Nearly 60 arbitrators participated in this course.On the morning of December 22,2018,lawyer Zhang Zheng,the founding partner of Beijing Gaopeng Law Firm,was invited to teach a commercial arbitration course entitled"Insight into Differences,Different Approaches,Same Destination-A Comprehensive View of the Legal System of Commercial Arbitration.".

In his lecture,Lawyer Zhang Zheng first elaborated on the differences between civil litigation and commercial arbitration from multiple aspects,such as the source of power,court trial methods,and relief measures.Then it analyzes the five advantages of commercial arbitration:autonomy of will,expert adjudication,confidentiality,efficiency,and extraterritorial effectiveness.In particular,it analyzes the"game"process of arbitrators'thinking and judgment in the process of making arbitral awards.Finally,Lawyer Zhang Zheng explained the decision from six aspects:the validity of the contract,the basis of the request,evidence of performance,determination of losses,handling of the main text,and improvement of the procedure.

During the entire four-hour lecture,the atmosphere was warm on the spot.After the lecture,the students expressed that they had improved their skills in the specific application of commercial arbitration as a dispute resolution method through this lecture.

Lawyer Zhang Zheng also served as the presiding arbitrator of the simulated arbitration tribunal on the afternoon of the same day,presenting the entire process of the arbitration tribunal's trial to the trainees.During the simulated court hearing,students with rich arbitration practice experience submitted requests for jurisdiction objection,arbitrator withdrawal application,appraisal application,and conducted fierce litigation and defense disputes.The court hearing process was brilliant and diverse.According to the situation and rhythm of the court trial,Lawyer Zhang Zheng has taken the method of conducting the court trial and comment guidance simultaneously.He has suspended the trial for many times to analyze,guide,and comment on the court trial and the performance of the students in combination with his years of arbitration trial experience,which has greatly benefited the students.
